Local to Ludlow Shop success, but now time for market to return
PRESS RELEASE

Local to Ludlow Shop success, but now time for market to return.
Local to Ludlow, the organisers of the long established and extremely popular farmers market in Ludlow are now into their sixth week of a ‘pop up’ shop. They are delighted by the success of the shop, providing small food and drink producers with some income whilst markets are banned in town. In fact so appreciative are their regular customers, they’ve sold out of many products during their brief mornings of trading. However Tish Dockerty, Local to Ludlow manager believes it’s time to start planning for the market to return. ‘We think that we can run a safe market in Castle Square, fulfilling government guidelines, we just need support from the Town Council and local constabulary to make it happen. The new government guidelines do say that the risk of infection outside is significantly lower than inside, thus making outdoor markets far safer .’
Tish Dockerty liaised with local police to ensure the pop up shop adhered to all the guidelines laid down by the government so that all their customers were safe, including coned queuing and marked floor spaces two metres apart. Something similar could be achieved with the market square, reducing numbers entering the stall area and having a separate exit. Tish Dockerty, adds it is very easy to not to do anything, but with some re organising she’s confident they can make both stallholders and customers feel safe whilst shopping.
A lot of the customers were hugely grateful for the effort we’d made and said they would certainly continue supporting us. Therefore the pop up shop will continue trading every Thursday from 9am - 1pm until the market returns.
